As part of the 2024 Caravan journey themed "Solidarity and Sharing for Mutual Development," following their participation in the Investment and Trade Promotion Conference in Cần Thơ City, on August 17, 2024, a delegation of leading corporations from Thanh Hóa, along with the Thanh Hóa Businessmen Club in Ho Chi Minh City and the South (Ho Chi Minh city – Thanh Hoa Businessmen Club or HTBC), visited Sao Mai Group in An Giang and Đồng Tháp provinces.
The first stop on their tour was the Sao Mai - Vàm Cống Industrial Complex in Lấp Vò District, Đồng Tháp Province. Established in 2003, the complex is strategically located with excellent access to both road and river transport, making it ideal for the sustainable development of Sao Mai's seafood sector.

Twenty-one years ago, when the Đồng Tháp People's Committee allocated the land, Sao Mai Group quickly transformed the area into a nearly 30-hectare model industrial zone named Sao Mai, which meets all the criteria of being green, clean, beautiful, and environmentally friendly.
This site houses four member companies of the Group, with five factories that have a combined daily processing capacity of 1,800 tons of raw materials per day, contributing to Vietnam's closed-loop aquaculture – processing – export chain, including: IDI International Development and Investment Corporation (two factories: 600 tons/day), Sao Mai Super Feed Aquatic Feed Processing Company (1,000 tons/day), Trisedco Fish Meal and Fish Oil Processing Company (450 tons/day), and AFO Premium Cooking Oil and Food Seasoning Company (200 tons/day). These units have provided jobs for over 6,000 workers, ranging from unskilled labor to highly skilled positions.
Mr. Cao Tiến Đoan - Chairman of Thanh Hóa Business Association speaking
Sao Mai Group has turned a once barren land at the confluence of the Tiền and Hậu rivers into a comprehensive industrial complex. All production technologies here are transferred from Europe, with fully synchronized management and operational processes to ensure the highest standards of consistent quality and food safety. This technological edge is one of the reasons why Sao Mai's seafood products are highly competitive in both price and quality on the global market.
Overview of the conference
After nearly 30 years of development, Sao Mai Group has become one of the leading multi-sector economic groups in the Mekong Delta region, with a workforce of about 12,000 people spread across the country and in several international locations where the Group has investments. Beyond its strength in seafood, Sao Mai is also a pioneer in clean energy exploitation and eco-tourism.
During the exchange of business and production experiences with Sao Mai Group, the delegation and entrepreneurs of Thanh Hóa was deeply impressed by the vast "empire" built under the leadership of a fellow Thanh Hóa native.
Sharing with the delegation, Mr. Lê Thanh Thuấn, Chairman of the Founding and Development Council of Sao Mai Group, noted: "In Thanh Hóa, Sao Mai has also implemented several community-focused projects that have rapidly transformed the urban landscape, fostered economic and social development, and improved the living standards of people in Triệu Sơn and Nghi Sơn districts. The latest addition is the LAMORI Resort & Spa in Thọ Lâm Commune, Thọ Xuân District, which is set to launch soon."
LAMORI, located just 1 km from the national historical site of Lam Kinh and about 8 km from Thọ Xuân International Airport, is strategically positioned with excellent feng shui. The surrounding Lam Kinh Mountains and the legacy of the Lam Sơn uprising have inspired investors to create LAMORI, which embodies the rich cultural and historical values of the land of the two Lê dynasties, whose reign spanned over six centuries.

When it opens, LAMORI will be an ideal destination, showcasing a harmonious blend of nature conservation and sustainable development. It will stand as a symbol of efforts to protect the ecological landscape, allowing visitors to uncover the rare "green treasure" of Lam Kinh.
Presenting symbolic gifts
On this occasion, the Thanh Hóa Bussinessmen Club in Ho Chi Minh City and the South donated 100 million VND to the An Giang Province Study Encouragement Association to support underprivileged students as the new school year approaches.
